Do you charge anything for the clothing that you provide to those in need?
No. With the generous donations by individuals, churches, businesses and various groups, $300,000 worth of items are given that supply this vital program.
How are you helping the community?
Our goal is to be able to provide individual care and to listen and try to understand the underlying issues that trap people in need and poverty. In order to break the cycle of poverty we understand this involves more than providing food, clothing and assistance; it means getting to know the individual, the family and helping them see how they can use whatever resources, no matter how few, to begin to take positive steps to becoming self-sufficient and productive within the community.
How are your programs funded?
Eastside Community Ministry is an ecumenical ministry led by an independent board of directors. We are funded by the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties, various religious denominations, churches, civic groups and individuals.
