Youth from kindergarten through high school experiencing disadvantages associated with growing up in an environment of high rates of poverty, substance abuse, illiteracy and crime are eligible for this program. Every week, nearly forty students are encouraged to complete homework and learn good study habits. They participate in the Learning for Life Program, which teaches money and household management, cooking, laundering, and other practical life-long skills to help them become independent, contributing adults.
